Joseph G. Ryan, Chief

Chief Ryan began his career in law enforcement in 1986 as a patrolman with the NYC Police Department.  Joined the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in 1987 and currently hold the rank of Captain. Ryan joined the Plattekill Police Department in 1996 was promoted to the rank of Police Chief in 2007.

 

William C. Smith, Lieutenant

Lieutenant William C. Smith started his career in 1984 with the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division and then moving onto the patrol division. After 2 years he transferred to the town of Ulster Police Dept. After several years of service he became one of the departments 1st K-9 teams and continued with the road patrol, working with K-9 partner and reaching the rank of Sergeant. In 2006 he started working with the Plattekill police working up through the ranks and achieving Lieutenant.
